Counterfeit and Genuine Viagra: Things You Should Know of Fake Drugs.

Over the recent years, the popularity of Viagra has grown so much that swindlers and dishonest sellers invent new and new ways of making money on it. The so-called black market of counterfeit Viagra today is as huge as never before. But fake Viagra at the best is useless. And at the worst, it can make a serious damage to health.

How to Determine the Counterfeit

The easiest way to sell fake drugs with impunity is the Internet. Nowadays hundreds of online stores offer Viagra and its generics, and sometimes it is very difficult to distinguish between conscientious sellers and swindlers. If an online drug store offers “genuine” Viagra at a suspiciously low price, there are high chances that it’s a counterfeit. Also, all types of “herbal” or “natural” Viagra have nothing to do with the original drug. Moreover, their effectiveness is not proved by clinical trials, and their composition is not known.

Original Viagra from Pfizer company gas some distinctive features. The diamond-shaped pills themselves are of blue color. From the one side of each pill the name of the company – Pfizer – is engraved. From the other side, one can see three capital letters VGR and dose of an active ingredient in milligrams – 50, 100, or 25. The drug is sold in aluminum foil blister packs; one pack contains one, two, four, eight or twelve pills. The blister packs are contained in outer cardboard packs. Also, the drug is available in white vials made of high-density polyethylene. Every vial can contain four, eight or twelve pills. Pay a particular attention to the hologram in the lower right corner of the pack. An image on the hologram changes – depending on the angle of vision you can see either the word VIAGRA or the name of the manufacturer – Pfizer.

Is Fake Viagra Dangerous for Health?

Buying counterfeit drugs, you can never be sure about their chemical composition. You don’t have a reliable information of where they were produced, in what conditions, and what ingredient was used. In some cases, there is just a dummy medication consisting, for example, of talcum powder and food dye of blue color. However, laboratory analyses of some fakes that showed that they contained toxic ingredients, such as detergents. Moreover, these pills are often produced without observance of hygienic norms and can contain anything including dust from roads. But even if the pills really contain Sildenafil, like genuine Viagra, you can’t be sure of its dosage. Incorrect dose, meanwhile, can cause serious side effects.

Legal Alternatives

Despite a high share of counterfeit Viagra in the market, there exist high-quality analogues of the famous pill that are manufactured in full compliance with the original formula. These drugs are called generics, and they are produced by reliable pharmaceutical companies. Generic drugs have exactly the same chemical composition as original Viagra, but they are sold at a lower price. Such drugs can be bought absolutely legally in high-reputable reliable pharmacies and drug stores both online and offline.
